Adenium are a native to African countries. With the development of innumerous hybrids, the adenium can now be grown in most parts of the world. Its scientific name is Adenium Obesum. Its flowers has resemblance with the flowers of the Allamanda plant. These plants are mostly adapted to the hot and arid climate of African regions. Surprisingly, these plants are easily adaptable to most climatic conditions.
It is found to reach a maximum height of 2 metres. But in tropical regions, the maximum height attained by these plants are much shorter. Here, these plants are usually grown as bonsai trees. They are pruned to the desired shape. Bonsai plants look like dwarf versions of the original tree and their roots resemble the roots of a banyan tree. The flowers of the adeniums are delightfully attractive. One of the most attractive feature is that, it does not require much care and attention.
The flowers of adenium family is diverse and comes in a wide variety of colors. While most of them produce pretty pink flowers, some breeds especially from the Thai cultivar produce white scented flowers. Top contenders in the hybrid family include the Full Moon Circle or Picotee Adenium and Home Run Red or Desert Roses, which are available in the market. Home Run adeniums have deep red flowers and the Full Moon Circle has white flowers with a pink border
