As we all know, the earth has mainly 4 directions: east, west, north and south. But according to vastu shastra, the directions are divided into 8. The junction where any 2 directions meet, is called corners (sandhi stana or moola sthaana), according to vastu shastra.
The junction where the south direction meets the east is called the south east direction. The junction between north and east direction are termed north east direction. The place where the south direction meets the west is called south west direction. The joining point of north and west direction is termed as northwest direction. These directions are formed according to vastu shastra. Since the place where the 2 direction meet are corners, a huge amount of energy is accumulated in this region. For this reason, while deciding the corners (sandhi staana), and beginning construction, taking advice from a person well versed in vastu is necessary. Any fault in the calculation of corners (sandhi sthaana) can lead to severe adversities related to vastu (vastu doshas).
