Moringa oleifera (Annual Moringa) a variety of drumstick has become very popular. The peculiarity of moringa oleifera (annual moringa) is that it produces yield after one year itself. KM-1, PKM-1, are important varieties of moringa oleifera (annual moringa). If taken care of well, this variety yields up to 200 drumsticks per year. In a pit 50 cm deep, add soil mixed with 15 kg of dried cow dung and fill it. In each pit, sow 2 seeds each and retain the healthy sapling on germination. The seeds of moringa oleifera (annual moringa) can be germinated in polythene covers filled with soil and then replanted. The ideal time to sow seeds is during June-July. While the annual moringa plant grows and reaches three fourth of a meter high, the main bud should be cut off in order to catalyse the growth of other buds. Also the weeds should be removed and if necessary, support must be given to the plant. During initial growth, enough water should be given to the plant. Since drumstick is consumed as a vegetable, it is good to avoid chemical fertilizers for moringa oleifera (annual moringa). Cow’s urine is diluted up to 20 times and poured away from the base of the plant where the roots expand. This can be done once in a week. This helps to prevent any deficiency in the plant. Pruning the tree after harvest is good, and at this time, manuring and watering should be done. Moringa oleifera (annual moringa)gives high yield up to 4 years and after that the tree is cut and a new one is planted.
