The roof construction is the most expensive part of the house, in terms of construction costs. Roofs provide, shape, security and beauty to the abode. A roof should be built to last the challenges put forth by nature. In places with higher temperature, wide, thick, concrete roofs will be advisable. Such roofs are also economically cheaper. Use cement in a 1.3 ratio, above this. Decreasing the thickness of the concrete roof, and extending it a little further will avoid the need for a separate sunshade. A single story house can be polished with cement since a slanting roof is not a viable option. Using asbestos for roofs is a very inexpensive option. But this will increase the temperature inside the house. Hence this option is not widely preferred. Using filler concrete is an effective cost-reducing option. This will reduce the cement and metal consumption. Since this reduces the weight of the roof, the thickness of the walls can also be reduced. The heat is also reduced in this method. Taking a little extra care in roof construction can drastically reduce the cost of construction.
