The vastu bali and vastu pooja should be performed on the night before the Griha pravesh. The vastu pooja is performed to please the vastu purush. Vastu bali is performed to solidify the relation between the land and the house. But the Panjashira sthapanami is performed to get rid of any doshas to the house and also to rectify problems due to dimensional errors. The vastu pooja is also performed during the Shilasthapanam and the placing of the architrave. The vastu pooja is performed by carpenters.
The pooja performed on the night before the Grihapravesh is called the vaastu bali. The main carpenter will do this rite. This pooja is help rectify doshas and bring prosperity and affluence to the household. In big plots, the place or position for the house is decided with this rite. The gods are invoked in a lotus flower and sacrifices are made. Once the construction is done, decide the perimeter according to the shape suited for that house and then do the vaastu bali. The perimeter is decided and received precisely because of the Vaastu bali. It is because of these reasons that the vaastu bali is given such importance.
