Vastu signs are very important in vastu shastra. Never purchase a land based on visual or aesthetic appeal alone. Make an in-depth analysis based on the vastu of the place. The geographical structure, terrain and direction of wind flow should be considered. Plots with a lot of trees or undergrowth will suggest a very fertile and rich soil. Also, if seeds sprout within days of being dropped into the soil, livestock grazing on the land, habitation by humans and other living things alike, a river or canal situated on the north side of the plot flowing from west to east – all of these are auspicious vastu signs according to vastu shastra. The geographical shape and extensions of a particular plot are also very important factors to be considered; plots with extensions in the north, north-east, east directions are auspicious. Constructing houses to the north, north-east, east of existing constructions will bring prosperity. A square or rectangular piece of land on a level plot or eastward inclined plot is considered favorable. Newer constructions being lower than existing structures and properties free of hills or mountains to the north-east side are also considered auspicious. Considering all these factors and selecting a plot based on all these vastu signs will ensure that the plot brings health, wealth and happiness.
