A padippura (vestibule) should always be constructed after deciding the position based on vastu principles.
If it is to be constructed in the south, then it should be at the sixth Gandarva padam. If it is to be on the north side, then it should be on the third Mukya padam from the west, fourth Ballada padam or fifth Indhu padam. If it to be on the west, then construct it on the third Sugreeva padam from the south, the sixth Asura padam or the seventh Shesha padam. If the padippura (vestibule) is to be on the east, then divide the length on the south-north in nine and build it on the Punarjanya padam – second from the north, third Jayantha padam or fourth Indra padam. Building the it in any of the other padams is harmful. And so be careful not to build padippura (vestibules), doors or fences on these harmful areas.
